mistletoe memories
i am dreaming of candycane kisses.
of peppermint lips and teas and
cinnamon scented skin gliding
against pine smelling sheets.
flickering flames lighting porcelain
limbs, tied together
like tangled strings of popcorn
and twinkling tinsel.
hot cocoa warming pale palms,
sweetening gingerbread tongues
and whipped cream teeth.
snowstorm silver eyes locked together,
red ribboned passion
engulfed
by the ghostly green of the christmas
tree, swallowed by the bright,
burning scent of a blown out match.
as a foggy twilight finally filters
through frosted window panes, it
is a happy new year, indeed.
